Nashville Sports Council Donates Mask Surplus to Local Organizations in Need

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Sports Council on Monday donated its surplus of facemasks to local organizations in need amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The leftover masks from the Sports Council’s Virtual 5K along with donuts from Status Dough in East Nashville were distributed to the following organizations:

YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee: YWCA is one of the oldest and largest nonprofits in the region focused on the needs of women, girls, and families, deeply committed to working on issues of gender, economic, social and racial justice. For more information, visit www.ywcanashville.com.

Siloam Health: A clinic serving Nashville’s uninsured, underserved and culturally marginalized. For more information on Siloam Health, visit www.siloamhealth.org.

“While we’re an organization that relies on community support, we’re always looking for ways, big or small, to impact our community beyond sports,” Scott Ramsey, President & CEO of the Nashville Sports Council said. “Instead of allowing critical PPE like masks to sit in storage, we felt it was best to immediately distribute them across these local organizations.

“We look forward to sports returning to a healthy Music City in the near future.”

The Nashville Sports Council remains committed to helping spur Nashville’s local economy and well-being through various initiatives.
