Comcast and the Nashville Sports Council teamed up to present the newest in Olympic Games viewing technology with special guest speaker, Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton. The event surrounded Comcast’s Xfinity X1 platform that also promotes a voice activated remote that helps viewers with usability.

Preston Smalley, Vice President of Product Development at Comcast, unveiled his new viewing experience complete with many innovative ways to find and watch Olympics content. Viewers can easily find what content they are looking for through the various channels, statistics and additional information at the touch of a button or simply by speaking. Comcast also teamed up with YouTube to provide online clips of exciting moments to stream.

After the demo of the NBC Olympics Dashboard, Hamilton spoke about his life as both an athlete and a professional at the Olympic Games. Attendees got to hear funny anecdotes about his time as a broadcaster for the Olympics and got some life advice from the successful businessman as well. What resonated for many was Hamilton’s message. As a very sickly child who would only grow to be 5’3”, he was the unlikeliest of Olympians; yet, he found the avenue to be the greatest athlete in the world in his sport. Pray, work hard, and make what he called the “easy” choices if you set your mind to a goal. His story segued into a Q&A moderated by Channel 4 News Today Anchor, Chris Miller.

The audience was captivated by the new Comcast technology and enthralled by Scott Hamilton’s congeniality and sense of humor. If you missed this member event, the Nashville Sports Council hopes to see you at the next one.
