Nashville Sports Council is “The Driving Force of Sports!” Our mission is to positively impact the economy and quality of life of the Greater Nashville Area by attracting and promoting professional and amateur sports. The Nashville Sports Council is a private not-for-profit membership-based organization.
 
The Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl is a college bowl game featuring two of the best football conferences in America, the ACC and SEC. Played at LP Field (downtown Nashville) and broadcast live to millions of viewers on ESPN, the bowl is Nashville’s Holiday Tradition.

Internship Programs Job Descriptions
 
Marketing, Development, Communications Intern- This internship is specifically geared towards the individual with an interest in marketing, development, and communications. The Sports Council has an active membership of hundreds of individual members and nearly 200 corporate members. It is the purpose of this division to create and implement programs to retain and increase membership as well as secure event partners and manage the brand of the Nashville Sports Council and Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl. The position reports to the Vice President  | Marketing, Development, Communications and ultimately to the Senior Vice President & COO.
 
  • Assist in the creation of Sports Council communication pieces.
  • Assist the staff with internet website (NashvilleSports.com & MusicCityBowl.com) as well as social media platforms.
  • Assist with event marketing & communications plans.
  • Assist with the Comcast Spotlight Sports Speaker Series and member activities (i.e., Predators Face-Off Luncheon, Titans Kick Off Luncheon).
  • Coordinate communication projects such as souvenir gameday program/media guide for the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.
  • Work on prospect list for new corporate members / events sponsors.
  • Assist with corporate and individual membership campaigns.
  • Assist with updating databases for membership and sponsorship program.
  • Coordinate media clips.
  • Assist department with marketing department functions for events.
  • Assist with general administrative duties.
 
Events and Programs Intern- This internship is geared toward the individual with an interest in event management. It is the purpose of the events and programs division to successfully market and implement all Sports Council events to ensure top quality event management. This position reports directly to the Events Managers and ultimately to the Senior Vice President & COO. 
 
  • Assist and execute projects and/or assignments as assigned by the Sports Council staff.
  • Assist with the overall strategy of all Sports Council events.
  • Assist with the Sports Council volunteer program.
  • Assist in implementation of event day execution and management.
  • Assist with updating databases for participants and attendees of Sports Council events.
  • Assist with general administrative duties.
