About the Event (Click Here for a Preview from Golfweek Magazine)

The DICK'S Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup was conceived as an opportunity for The Golf Club of Tennessee to further amplify its outreach in competitive amateur golf by providing a unique and engaging tournament experience for the top golf programs in our region.  An assumed derivative would be increased recognition for The Golf Club among NCAA influencers as one of the best golf experiences in the region, and the ability to ultimately use that exposure to bid for an NCAA Men’s Collegiate National Golf Championship.

The multi-day collegiate golf event will pit the top ACC and SEC teams against each other for a 54 hole team stroke play event, followed by an 18 hole match-play conference finale, pitting the teams in each conference against each other to play for the “Top Conference” honors.

A unique highlight of the event will be a member/collegiate scramble on Saturday afternoon.  This interactive event will showcase two collegiate players paired with two Golf Club members and/or event sponsors in a four-person team scramble.  After the scramble, all of the players, coaches, members, and sponsors will gather for a lawn party and dinner, with live “Nashville style” entertainment!  The medal play awards ceremony and the announcement of the match play pairings will also take place during Saturday evening’s party.

The event will be covered extensivle by GOLFWEEK and will also be featured in a one-hour televised special on ESPNU set to air October 13, 2013 at 11 AM CST.
