Comcast Spotlight Pre-season NIT Preview

Nashville, TN - Belmont University men's basketball coach Rick Byrd and University of Tennessee men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl will be the featured guests at the upcoming Comcast Spotlight Sports Speaker Series luncheon on Monday, October 30 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Suites Downtown.

"We're very excited about having these outstanding coaches speak at our event," said Lisa Dean, General Manager of Comcast Spotlight Nashville.  "Tennessee and Belmont both had memorable seasons last year and both have a lot to look forward to this year as well."

Both coaches will address the audience and speak primarily about the upcoming Pre-Season NIT, which both schools will participate in on November 13-14 at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.  The coaches will also answer questions from the audience.

"Belmont is excited to be part of the Pre-Season NIT," said Belmont coach Rick Byrd.  "We appreciate the Nashville Sports Council for hosting this event in support of the tournament and we hope to see a lot of Belmont fans at the luncheon."

"We're excited about coming to Nashville and participating in the Pre-Season NIT," said Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl.  "I'm very honored that the Nashville Sports Council has invited me to be a part of this event and I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of orange at the luncheon."   

Guests in attendance will have an opportunity to register for great door prizes.  In addition, the Comcast Spotlight Champion Award, which recognizes an outstanding amateur athletic team for their excellence both on and off the playing field, will be awarded.
