9th Annual O'Charley's Dinner of Champions set for Mar. 12

NASHVILLE'S PREMIER SPORTS AWARDS EVENT WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, MARCH 12, 2007AT NASHVILLE CONVENTION CENTER
Nashville, Tenn., -- Representatives of the Nashville Sports Council today announced that the 9th Annual O'Charley's Dinner of Champions is set for Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Nashville Convention Center. The annual event honors and recognizes outstanding achievements in sports by individuals, teams, and organizations.
"This event is a celebration of all the good that comes from sports participation and athletic achievement. From little league baseball to professional sports, sports represent an avenue for teaching, teamwork, and character development, which are important components of our community fabric," said Gregory L. Burns, chairman & CEO of O'Charley's, Inc. "These are some of the same values we emphasize within the O'Charley's family, and sponsorship of this event is a great source of pride for our team members."
The following awards will be presented on March 12. Sports Person of the Year, Amateur Athletics, High School Athletics Award, High School Team Athletics Award, Fred Russell Lifetime Achievement, Community Spirit, Volunteer of the Year, and the Kaia Jergenson Courage Award. Award recipients have included Steve McNair, Tomas Vokoun, Jay Cutler, Barry Trotz, Chantelle Anderson, Charlie Anderson, Craig Leipold, Jeff Fisher, Darrell Waltrip, Lou Graham, Hillsboro High School, David Meador, Ravenwood High School, and Jeff Rutledge to name a few. The event will begin with a silent auction, benefiting Nashville Sports Council Foundation (which directly supports Amateur Athletics), at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the awards presentation. Individual tickets and table sponsorships are available. Individual tickets for non-Nashville Sports Council members are $65, which includes dinner and a commemorative gift. There is special pricing for Nashville Sports Council members. Table sponsorships include corporate recognition and unique sponsor benefits.
