Jim Murphy to serve as 2007-08 Board Chairman

            Nashville, TN. August 3, 2007 – Representatives of the Nashville Sports Council announced today its new leadership for the 2007-2008 fiscal year.  The Board of Directors elected Jim Murphy of Boult Cummings Conners & Berry as Chairman.  The board also named its new executive committee.

           “The Nashville Sports Council continues to deliver incredible results for our community and makes a positive impact on our sports landscape,” said Jim Murphy, Chairman.  “I’m excited to work with such a vital organization to Middle Tennessee and a very talented and diverse group of board members.”

            The 70+ Board of Directors leads the Nashville Sports Council in its effort to recruit sporting events to Nashville.  The 2007-2008 executive committee includes the following:

Chair – Jim Murphy, Boult Cummings Conners & Berry

Immediate Past Chair – Evette White, White Thompson LLC.

Finance Chair - Dan Hogan, Fifth Third Bank

Legal Counsel - Pete Ezell, Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz

Government Relations Chair – Councilman Rip Ryman

Events Chair – Dr. Jon Steinbrecher, Ohio Valley Conference
