On behalf of the Nashville Sports Council, we wanted to reach out to our corporate and individual members regarding the Nashville Predators.
The Predators continue to be a vital asset of our sports landscape and have been a fixture in Middle Tennessee during the last decade. The positive impacts that have been delivered by having an NHL franchise in our community are immeasurable. The Predators have significantly impacted Nashville’s economy by bringing thousands of fans downtown and have enhanced our image and reputation as a world-class city.
We have had several conversations with our members and leadership for several weeks about the Predators situation and specifically what our members can do to assist in keeping the team in Nashville. We realize that there is a lot of speculation and uncertainty that currently exists but we need to remain focused on the task at hand. We have to do everything that we can to keep our team in Nashville.
As you may know, the Our Team Campaign is a coalition of Predator fans, business leaders, and volunteers organized to help sell 3,000 new season tickets to aid in getting the per-game paid attendance above the 14,000 minimum contained in the team’s lease with the City. For several weeks now, in our weekly e-mails to the Sports Council membership, we have provided a link to the Campaign and we encourage you to visit OurTeamNashville.com to learn more about how you can get personally and/or corporately involved. There is also a link to the Our Team Campaign on our website’s homepage at NashvilleSports.com. The Nashville Sports Council firmly stands behind this effort and we hope that our membership will as well.
In addition, on Thursday, July 19, the Our Team Campaign and 104.5 The Zone will host a day-long Open House for all Predators fans at The Sommet Center from 6am until 7pm. Our friends at 104.5 The Zone will be broadcasting all day from the Open House. Fans will be able to view available seat locations for full-season and partial-season ticket packages. From 11am to 1:30pm, $5 box lunches will be available in the Visitors Center section of The Sommet Center courtesy of six downtown hotels.
The Open House will be capped off with a RALLY beginning at 6pm.
Admission to the Open House and Rally is FREE and Central Parking will provide FREE PARKING at the surface lot at Fifth and Demonbreun. More details on the Open House and Rally can be found at
www.1045thezone.com. We strongly encourage our members to come out and show your support of the Predators. Be sure to wear your Predators gear. We really need a great turnout for the Open House and Rally and we hope to see you there. Stay tuned for more details about the rally or call 743-3120 with any questions that you may have.
We truly value the Predators and what they have meant for Nashville. We can’t lose the momentum that we have as a professional sports town. The only way that we can keep the Predators here is to work as a team, roll up our sleeves, and let our voices be heard that we support our team and we will reach the 14,000 goal.
Sincerely,
Jim Murphy
