Second annual Music City Hits field set

NATION'S TOP FEMALE FASTPITCH SOFTBALL TEAMS TO COMPETE AT DRAKES CREEK PARK IN HENDERSONVILLE JUNE 14-18
Nashville, TN - The Nashville Sports Council's Music City Hits Fastpitch Tournament, will take place June 14-18 at Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville. Sixty-two of the nation's top 18U and 16U softball teams will arrive in Music City to participate in this tournament. Forty-four teams competed in the inaugural event last year.
"We are excited to see how quickly this tournament has grown after only one year of existence," said Scott Ramsey, executive director. "Fastpitch softball is one of the country's fastest growing sports. We are eager to host these athletes in Music City."
Teams competing in the tournament are guaranteed six games with five pool games and a single elimination tournament. The teams were divided into 10 different team pools. The tournament games will last seven innings with the international tiebreaker going into effect should a game go to the 8th inning. Pool games will have a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes and the pool play games may end in a tie.
Ten fields will be used at Drakes Creek Park. Weekly tournament passes can be purchased for $25. Daily passes are available for $7. Children 5 and under are admitted free. All passes will be sold on-site at Drakes Creek Park. Game times will be as follows: June 14 (8 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.), June 15 (8 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.), June 16 (8 a.m. - 3 p.m.), June 17 (8 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.), June 18 (9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.).
