Overview
One of the primary objectives of theComcast Spotlight Sports Speaker Series is to show the commitment to youth that Comcast and the Nashville Sports Council share.
At each of theComcast Spotlight Sports Speaker Series Events, the Nashville Sports Council and Comcast will honor and recognize an outstanding amateur athletic team for their excellence on and off the playing field.
A $500.00 honorarium will be provided for the award winning teamís athletic budget. The honorarium is courtesy of the Comcast team.
Team recipients must attend the event for the awards presentation along with their Head Coach, Athletic Director, and/or School Principal. A table of ten (10) will be provided for the recipients and representatives courtesy of Comcast and the Nashville Sports Council.
Awards Criteria
• Team recipients will be chosen for either their academic, athletic, or outstanding community achievements.
• Team recipients will be limited to amateur level status including high school athletes.
• Team recipients must live, attend school, and compete within the Nashville Metropolitan Area (MSA).
How are the Recipients Selected?
• The Speakers Mgmt. Committee (sub committee of the Nashville Sports Council) will select one TSSAA MSA high school athletic program at each event to be recognized.
• Each athletic program will have an opportunity to be recognized. Once every team in the MSA has been selected, the process will start over.
